How it feels doing literally any task right now.

so much fandom misery can be avoided by just not being into whatever the hot new thing is. there are lots of people whose deal is flocking to whatever popular thing just came out, mauling each other over it, and then moving on in 6 months to repeat the process and they are where the nonsense is

you also just tend to get more interesting reads about something after those people have left because frequently they are kind of a migratory fandom for some specific ship dynamic and when they encounter a new story they hack it into the shape of that dynamic rather than talking about the story

i got to lore dump about megaman x and zero over lunch, so that's just a good day
