i have to say, as a trans journalist who has covered the "trans debate" for about a decade now, there is no daylight between how the trump administration and conservatives lie about tylenol and autism and how they've lied about youth trans care.

From the outlet that asked if we should be sterilized, it comes as no surprise that they would hide the author.

Your reminder that legislation to curb the rights of trans people to use restrooms or do anything else means everyone's behaviour, clothing etc will be opened up to intrusive and unwanted scrutiny and potential challenge in our daily lives. This is not a 'them' issue. Trans rights are human rights.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

Awful and dangerous to hear the Mayor echo the transphobic bigotry coming from the Trump administration. It's completely at odds with the values of our city and another reason why his single, disgraced term in office cannot end soon enough.

So free speech apparently means being able to call me a slur and refer to me as a virus that needs to be eradicated from the earth - but it doesn't mean that we are able to criticize the president or his allies.

They were never going to stop at trans people.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say. This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand. All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Ironic that this admin is celebrating Constitution Day when they spend every day trampling on the Constitution. If they keep going at this rate there won't be one to celebrate.

The people in power do not see me as a human being - but as a virus that should be eradicated. I’m worry for my future in this world, but will continue to use my voice in hope for a better tomorrow.
