Many are looking at the current Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak curve and concluding “this must be airborne now.” There is no good evidence for that. This most likely reflects delayed detection + surveillance catch-up, not a sudden change in Ebola transmission dynamics. 🧵

This person is wrong. N95 offers one or more orders of magnitude better source control. Also bacteria can transmit by aerosol — a virus is no problem. Sorry.

I still recall the relief I felt when I was told respirators would be used for C19, and then waking up to THAT TWEER from WHO saying it’s not airborne… and immediately having to start the fight to regain that protection that we had already painfully earned after SARS1.

You should read the article for the full results, but here are some key takeaways. First, lead contamination seems to be linked to average house age. Older houses had more lead paint, and their lots tended to have higher lead concentrations. Arsenic was not connected to house age.
