"The new Eurovision logo and font looks like other popular things in the world" can be good. The EBU want to create a sense of comfort with Brand Eurovision wherever the logo is encountered. The shape draws in, the word has the emotion. What emotion "Eurovision" conveys right now is a biggger issue.

Last ten genres to win the Eurovision pop music event: techno/opera, EDM, electropop, hip hop/folk, glam rock, pop, electropop, jazz/bossa nova, fusion, pop. So it's about forty percent pop on the top step.

Between this and Eurovision, today has really been the morning of rebrands, huh?
