Is it my impression or one of the problems of switching from platforms like Twitter, Instagram, etc. to platforms like Bluesky or Mastodon, for most people at least, will be that most of us have *unlearned* how to curate our content feeds? For many it's like learning the (old) Internet again.

Social media experts on polsky: Why do Mastodon and Bluesky have no proper algorithms* to display in our feeds the posts that are currently relevant and widely discussed on the platform? Is it a technical challenge because hard to built or is it a deliberate political decision against algorithms?

I’m curious about the strategy of Bluesky: what are the short-term and medium-term goals? For how long will it be an invite-only platform? I see they want to “take it easy”, but don’t they risk losing momentum? Or are they waiting for the momentum (i.e. some new crazy decision by Musk)?
