The core of neoliberalism is that all decent and empathetic human impulses are misguided, stupid, wrong, and evil. Feed children? Don't be naive! Establish sound fiscal austerity first!

In the latest Trashing Bartlet, we learn how white people can discipline black people over racism, why _The West Wing_ will never reach the same heights of _48 Hours_, and how ridiculous women are when they try to talk under painkillers.

TikTok just demonetized Current Affairs. No explanation. Just kicked us out and eliminated our income stream and said we violated an unspecified policy. Of course the only thing we've done that could possibly be controversial is be critical of imperialism and genocide.

It's surface-level stuff. Enjoyable, covers the hits, but it doesn't dig too deep. Or, it may be that Paul McCartney really isn't that complicated: a decent guy with epochal talents.

rod dreher is not that interesting. he is a guy very clearly filled with self hatred tied to repressed feelings related to his gender and sexuality, and rather than deal with them, he blames “modernity” and “secularism” for why he’s unhappy.

Last night, I received notification of the 19th death of a detained person in ICE custody since Trump took office. ICE is detaining people, mostly in private, for-profit prisons that put profit over health. And now they have furloughed the safety inspectors. This is unacceptable.
