💪 A superpower of the Southern Ocean is taking up heat and carbon from humans and slowing the rate of global warming, by exchanging heat and carbon between the atmosphere and the deep ocean. 🔄 The freeze-and-melt cycle of sea ice drives this exchange by changing water density and acting as a pump.
