The study this article is based on is at least honest about how useless it is. For example: On average, me and Kim Kardashian spent about ~$7 million on our weddings.

The labor share of GDP is lower today than it has been at any time since records began being kept in 1947. The share of the nationâs income going to workers has fallen 16 points in that 78-year stretch. The share going to capital has risen by the same amount.

This MLK Day I'm going to tell a story from May 1968 when a right wing provocateur got the nation talking about how "white conservative Christians" like him were reguularly victimized by Black/leftist mobs while the "liberal elite" looked the other way. The story was a lie, & the "victim" was a Nazi

Michael is doing valid work by highlighting this crap so Iâm not tempted to give them any engagement, but also I donât see how we can ever have a viable democratic society when elite media culture so openly embraces lazy dissembling like this. Itâs corrosive to public trust and destroys discourse.

The whole thing about the discussion whether fascism is irrational (and also that colonial violence was ârationalâ vs the Holocaust being âirrationalâ) is that it seems to lack a fundamental understanding that capitalist rationality is very much irrational.

Iâm ambivalent on the efficacy of bringing guns to face off with ICE. Pros: - could deter Cons: - could go bad - could trigger an escalation that accelerates more violence All of these things are probably true to an extent. Also really hard to measure.

Ignoring the little things that people have done wrong is great. Especially in parenting. One of the things we teach in ABA for parents is to use "start instructions" instead of "stop" instructions", which is just basically focusing on what you want the child to do, or to do better. 1/

ICE actions are not a radical break but an intensification and extension of bipartisan consensus on the need for punitive immigration policy. Since its post-9/11 creation, people have warned that the tools given to ICE would eventually be turned on citizens.
