Nothing lasts forever but my physical collection will outlast me. I often think about something Ivry Gitlis said about his violin, that the violin will outlive him, just like it has and will outlive others. He thought of himself as that violin's violinist rather than it being his violin.

I think of musicians as human beings who need food and a place to sleep, so I buy their recordings — unlike you, who thinks of "music" as something that you pay a monthly fee to "access," like water or air conditioning and other things that just... exist somehow, I guess.

Between St. Anne's Park, Bull Island and Howth we clocked over 28,000 steps. My legs are dead. On an average day in Montreal I imagine I might hit 3 to 4,000.
