That is not a peace deal.

It’s really hard to trust this. I wouldn’t start handing out any Nobels. I’m really afraid for after the hostages are returned. How many Israelis would protest relaunching strikes once the hostages are back?

The “Gaza peace deal” does not prevent the ongoing genocide by Israel on Palestine but will simply decelerate the most visible elements. We are glad survivors will catch a sort of break or reduction in violence but continue to be deeply concerned for their safety and wellbeing.

Essentially conditions have been reset to pre-October 7th meaning, Israel will continue to subjugate and abuse the population in Gaza but there will be a reduction in massacres and international coverage.

Israeli hostages will be successfully released, dead or alive and returned to their countries. Palestinian civilians, more than 11,100 held hostage in Israeli internment centres will remain imprisoned. Hamas leadership and other factions will receive full amnesty.

There will also be no compensation or acknowledgment by the Israeli government for any of the people in Gaza who lost their homes, loved ones, or were seriously maimed or traumatized by the Israeli onslaught.

The Israeli occupation of Palestine will continue, there is no deal on ending the Israeli siege on medicine and food, and logistically it will take 15 years and $50 to $110 billion dollars to rebuild Gaza infrastructure and residential structures if Israel allows it.

Another temporary “Gaza Peace Deal” has been achieved. Hamas and Israel have agreed to cease fighting. In theory Israel should also cease bombing civilians. After more than 60,000 people were killed by Israel, Gaza will be allowed to attempt to rebuild again.
