Our ferret Charlotte has been blind since birth. But now Charlie, our other ferret who is her bonded partner but not related, has started to develop blindness. Ferrets can go blind for similar reasons as humans, cataracts or diabetes. But I am worried about him. #ferret

Tomorrow I have to go to court for medical debt. Despite having health insurance, I owe thousands from breaking my leg and ankle last year. With multiple chronic illnesses, I knew medical bankruptcy would happen one day, but it's still scary now that it's here.

The hearing is behind me now. Even though I was legally required to go, there was no judge- it was a lawyer who is also a debt collector. The power dynamic seemed unfair. I am glad I just have another monthly bill and I wasn't arrested but I am disturbed by the whole thing.
