Though the 22nd Amendment prohibits Trump from being elected president again, it does not prohibit him from serving as president beyond Jan. 20, 2029. A scholar of politics and history explains.

My parents (born in 1930 and 1933) knew what polio did. Kids who ended up in braces or iron lungs or worse. How their parents forced them to stay inside during the summer because of polio outbreaks. They also talked about the overwhelming sense of relief when the polio vaccine was discovered.

An honor to talk to Dahlia Lithwick about the policy + legal history of US citizenship & migration. It is horrifying that my book drops as SCOTUS decides the constitutionality of the birthright citizenship stripping EO. What U don't know about this history can shape your support for present law. 1/

Question for the military experts here. The US Navy protected shipping in the Straits of Hormuz in the 1980s during the Iran-Iraq War. As best I can tell, this involved as many as 30 US ships at one time. Does the US Navy even have that capability today?

New study. We had adults place historical figures on the left-right ideological spectrum. Folks most often place history's villains (Hitler, Stalin, etc) as extreme examples of their opponents. But they place heroes (Jesus, MLK, Lincoln) are on their own team. 1/4

Has any previous conflict started with a majority of the country opposed? Plus, it's not even close. In contrast, after the Iraq War began, about 60-70% of Americans approved of it.
