The books from @longbarrowpress.bsky.social are always of superb quality inside and out and one of my favourite things is the publisher's super careful packaging - reassuring to someone like me who fusses about making sure parcels are cosseted en route! This was inside a padded envelope.

My early morning walk often includes going past the local newsagent before it opens. The paper bundle gets smaller every week. Gone are the days when buying a daily paper was normal. Shame it's not reflected in #r4today who use front pages of right wing rags to set their agenda.

Just over a week ago we flew to Sweden, Stockholm airport. It took us, fairly near the front of a massive non EU queue, 2 hours to get through passport control. At one point only 2 control booths were open. We were in no danger of missing flights, we were getting a train, but plenty of people were.
