In the 2023 GTA 5 source leak, a number of documents were included. One was about the design of the games seabed, and in it there was a lot of screenshots from Rockstar's scrapped game "Agent" (codenamed jimmy) as references or for reusing assets from it.

Why this way? Rockstar has means to animate cameras, but the speed of the chase varies based on how close the player is to it. Rockstar doesn't have means in the script functions to speed up/slow down a camera animation. Doing it this way lets them ramp up/down [cont]

In the GTA5 story mode mission Father/Son there is a cinematic view during the chase. To animate that view during the chase, they spawn 2 trucks, make them invisible, attach cameras to them and run "Vehicle Recordings" on the trucks. Unhiding them produces this amusing result: [thread]

You NEED to install this if you're playing GTA IV on PC. It fixes those annoying issues from the oh-so-great PC port and makes it look much better without being overdone. I reinstalled the game to try this and I'm really enjoying the improvements!

A #GTA IV remaster/port is very likely in the future. However it's also likely to be based on the PC port, which is full of issues not seen on the console versions. So let's see if Rockstar could learn a thing or two from the modding community for the upcoming re-release! 🧵

The latest SP update fixed the radio station switch animation on standing boats by simply disabling it. The next SP goes a step further - the animation now affects only a few body parts, so different driving animations are retained - low cars, trucks & pro anims stay consistent.

Meanwhile, back in GTA San Andreas land, a simple code fix corrects the way CJ jumps on motorbikes from the front - he was sinking into the bike previously, most noticeably on Freeway. Now everything lines up well!

I'm sure this is just a coincidence but I've noticed one of the Leonida license plate variants uses the same flamingo concept I did when making the VCS PCE license plates years back 🤪

One small detail I'm enjoying about GTA VI is that Rockstar seem to be expanding the state lore via the games License Plates, not only do we Leoinda plates from various decades, but we're also seeing Gloriana (Georgia), US Gov and even a modern day Liberty City plate...

Something I never expected to say with a straight face - apparently Windows 11 24H2 specifically breaks Skimmer in GTA San Andreas, it doesn't spawn and shoots up in the sky if force-spawned. I never expected the OS update to break a single specific feature in a game.

to anyone complaining about CoD's 'Update requires restart', remember that BO2, BO3, BO4 and BOCW did not have this issue, despite having hotpatch support. 'Update requires restart' was added in Infinite Warfare (after BO3!). BO6 moving to the 'main' engine meant this was gone, though ;3
