Folks, it’s time to get real for a minute. The organization I work for, @theprogressreport.ca is in dire financial straits right now. The departure of our co-founder, editor, investigative reporter and top fundraiser Duncan Kinney in February left a big hole in our organization.

Has anyone written about the intersection between Bill C-2 and Bill C-5? They are directly related but I haven't really seen anyone analyze that. Bill C-2 creates extra surveillance powers to further criminalize Indigenous people (and allies) resisting the "national interest" projects C-5 enables.

Today is a big win for workers - the anti-scab law is now in effect. For 15 yrs, New Democrats pushed this. We brought it forward 9 times. The Liberals & Conservatives said no. But the NDP kept fighting! Because workers deserve respect. They deserve fair bargaining. And today, they’re getting it.

As the planet burns. Canada has the 3rd highest child asthma rate caused by pollution in the world. Air pollution kills 34,000 people die in Canada every year. 8.7 million people die around the world. More than deaths from smoking. And Canada is going all in on fossil fuel burning.

A lot of people have a lot of different perspectives on the collapse of the NDP in this election. For now, all I will say is the core party leadership is not blameless, and I hope to see the right lessons learned as rebuilding takes place.

Okay, as a professional fundraiser I feel like it's my duty to say this. For people who make enough to pay federal income tax, you get a tax credit of 75% on federal political donations up to $400. That is to say, if you donate $400 to federal campaigns this election, you will get $300 back later.

Just saw a video talking about this smartvoting.ca site. Have to say, even given the premise of strategic voting, which I'm not a fan of to begin with, recommending voting against an incumbent NDP MPP in a riding where the PCs are not projected to be competitive is... certainly something.

This clip should be plastered everywhere for the next month. First off, Poilievre looks laughably weak literally running away from accountability, and it's deeply concerning that this is how someone who is poised to become the next PM responds to even slightly adversarial questioning.
