Toshiyuki Inoue allowed us to have a look at the storyboards for 'The Boy and the Heron'. It's fascinating to witness Miyazaki's way, while today's storyboards tend to be very detailed, his leave space for the animator's creativity...to then correct everything the way he wants it! 😂
