Delighted to say that I’m joining Birmingham City University next month as a full time Lecturer in Filmmaking. Today I’ve been getting a little head start with a cheeky campus visit. Bring on Birmingham and working with some future and developing filmmakers.

Does anybody have advice as to how to remember Bluesky? Moving from the other app to here has done something to my brain where I literally forget about this app and posting on it. But when I’m here I enjoy it.

At this point Drive To Survive is so fabricated with out of sequence editing, misleading narratives and staged discussion scenes, it’s less F1 documentary and more Keeping Up With The Car-dashians.

Wading into the @dirtysidepod.bsky.social debate. If it’s your first full season of F1 you are a rookie in my own opinion. You’ve not had the day to day of being an F1 driver which includes engineering side, media, improving your car because it’s your car etc etc. Ollie Bearman is 100% a rookie.

Week 3 out of 11 of teaching at Birkbeck, University of London complete. What a brilliant experience it has been so far. The students have been really motivated and engaged. Next week they pitch the projects that they will be doing as the final assessment. Excited to see what they bring.

Last year I worked hard to pivot the paid part of my career as a content producer into writing and teaching. And this year has started strong...I'm now Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London, and I'm just waiting on the contract for my first non-fiction book deal.

Britt Allcroft was truly one of a kind. When I was 12, she gave me a chance to be part of something that millions of children — as well as adults — love. Warm-hearted, funny, and kind, the English grandmother I never had. May her memory be a blessing. ❤️

Carry-On is such a blast of 80s inspired genre joy. Jason Bateman is clearly having the most fun as the villain. Plot holes aplenty but it’s moving along at such a pace and having so much fun you ignore them (until after). Highly recommend.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is the shot of wholesome I think we all needed on Christmas Day. Packed with film references, puns and sight gags, it should be on the syllabus for comedy directors.

I’ve waited too long to say this but Vengeance Most Fowl was an absolute peach as expected and a beautiful addition to Christmas Day, and I think special credit has to go to Ben Whitehead taking over as Wallace. Like Peter Sallis was still with us!

Starting in January as an Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London. Teaching on the Principles of Digital Video module to begin with.

For my work I have to keep popping over to Twitter (I've deleted my personal account) and it feels like Alternate 1985 from Back to the Future 2. A real dystopian vibe of unrelentingly stupid people venting their dumb views whilst waiving a 'free speech' banner.

Also, I see Williams, Aston Martin, Sauber and Haas going backwards over the year as they switch their budgets and focus to the 2026 rule changes. Alpine and Racing Bulls will stay about where they are. McLaren and Ferrari head to head development race. Red Bull will realise what Newey did for them!

My F1 predictions for next year: - Norris drivers champion - Ferrari constructors champion - Lawson dropped mid season, replaced by Tsunoda who does well - Bearman, Bortoleto and Hadjar impress, Antonelli and Doohan underwhelm - Hamilton wins a race for Ferrari

Finally watching Beetlejuice Beetlejuice after numerous failed attempts at a cinema trip. Has all the essence that made the original so much fun. And a reminder that opening on a location fly-by with a Danny Elfman score means it’s Burton time.

One of the worst hotel stays on this job I’m shooting. First, the room is all bed! Next, despite setting the thermostat low, the room is hotter than Hades. And finally, the neighbours came back around midnight, banged into the wall outside my room and then proceeded to have obnoxiously loud sex.
