Been saying this for years and I will continue to say it Screw the Zelda Timeline, it was made to shut certain kinds of fans up and they still aren't happy, and Nintendo continues to not give a shit about actually sticking to the timeline

Hard agree. I guess there's enough interest in the topic that every time there's a new game or DLC there's a new crop of "here's what this means for the Zelda timeline" but a consistent, MCU-style continuity is just not what those games are doing or how the creators relate them to one another.

I agree... I really hate the fact that to a certain percentage of gamers, EVERYTHING needs to be an interconnected Universe, MCU-style. But really, Zelda games are variations on the same basic concepts and it REALLY doesn't matter to line them up chronologically

Evidently, huge swath of fans never learned what the Downfall Timeline was or the huge implications of how it affected what Zelda canon is. And it's rather frustrating because the Downfall Timeline was known to be a problem, known to break the rules back in 2012. But people forgot about the past.

What's the difference between Canon and Continuity. Canon refers to official works. Continuity refers to story consistency. What many fans, particular timeline theorists, do not understand is that Canon=/=Continuity. A work can be canon and contradict what came before if that's the creator's will.

I have an epiphany with the Oz project I have after today's class of producing. This world truly needs The Marvelous Land of Oz storyline. More so than Ozma of Oz, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz, Road to Oz, and Emerald City of Oz. And it may require delaying Dorzma if I cannot add Dorothy in it.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment hopes thread: Before anything, I genuinely don't care whether or not there's an utter adherence to canon and timeline because frankly, the timeline is inconsequential. What-ifs are so much more fun to me than rigidly gliding within "acceptable" narrative.

Picture this: Link and the future Sages jump into the past and kill Ganondorf there, thus splitting the timeline in two again. And this timeline actually leads to Ocarina of Time. We never actually get the Imprisoning War mentioned in TOTK. :P

For people who believe that Cipes was fired for antivax views, understand this. Studios do not care if you have antivax views or controversial political views. They kept James Wood as Hades forever. They do care if your condition affects your performance and their bottom line. Like Parkinson’s.
