I'm not going to do any sales on my website this week, and I usually don't. I offer Buy 2 get 1 free deals on most of my items in person when I do a convention, so Geek Craft Expo is basically my Small Biz weekend sale! Other than that, I favor New Years sales for online stuff, if I do anything.

Now that we're in a big corp buying blackout but still supporting small businesses, I'd like to remind everyone that if you can use it, hard cash keeps more money in your local economy than credit! Every swipe of a card takes between 3.5-3.8% away from the business and puts it into bank pockets.

Finally caved in and grabbed the Square handheld pos system (point of sale) since it's 25% off right now - and boy is that discount really needed. I used my old phone for as long as I possibly could until the app no longer worked. RIP old phone, you served me well.

November's lino cut print "Solitude" felt like a step up in my lino work. After doing around 36 of these I feel like I'm finally starting to get the hang of it lol I mixed Pthalo green and platinum white to get a slightly lighter green and I love the results on the tan paper. :) #linocut #linoprint

I might be going out onto a limb, but I'd wager this is for a similar reason as to why SO many F-M pairs have a conventionally attractive woman with a man who is "insert literally any variety". It's especially noticeable in animation. I'm sure there are far more books/comics that flip the script

A movie that takes place where you're from. --------------- "A River Runs Through It". Fun info! My Great uncle George was best friends with one of the Macleans and learned to tie flies from their family. He also taught Brad Pitt how to fly fish for the movie.

I just love everything SimzArt does. The characters, the environments, the storytelling is all so rich and colorful and detailed. There's so much interacting going on, the characters that are in love are so sweet and authentic. I feel like I want to get pulled into this world every time I see it.

I didn't know there was an event this weekend in the same place as Geek Craft Expo next weekend (Renegade Craft) and I'm curious about it. Might run over there tomorrow to feel it out, see what the crowd and the vibe is like. And maybe shop a little lol

I wish the IBA submissions were just even a week later so I could get one more piece done in time, but alas. It's show prep week. I'll have it for next year at least!

Gods this is so real. Realism is a technical still, sure! It shows your understanding of a medium, of light, or the ability to copy a photo. But it's not everything. It's not the ONLY thing. You can make amazing non-realistic art. You can make amazing stylized art. Cute, funky, weird, great art.

Gosh my trip out yesterday to the optometrist then my jaunt to a clothing store then H-Mart has wiped me out today! I don't know what it is about shopping and interacting with people I don't know that's just so dang tiring. It's way too people-y out there lol

Same here. Things have felt so much better for me since leaving, both in business/career and community! Two and a half years since twitter, same for IG. I don't miss either one and my mood and overall mental health are so much better for leaving them behind.

I went to H-Mart today and got a ridiculous amount of persimmons. Except it's not a ridiculous amount because 16 persimmons is a perfect amount.

Went out Pokemon hunting in the rain and found some of the first visitors of the migrations! I love seeing what ducks come through each year. It was dark and they weren't very close (only had my phone), but they were all still so fun to see. Can you name them without looking at the captions?

Yep, expenses - not just fees and taxes but everything else it takes to run a business, like buying printer ink, labels, paper, paying for convention space, website, materials, etc - take a huge chunk out of all sales. At the end of the year my income is about 40% of my sales after all expenses.

I painted 6 varieties of ferns for a new sticker set (to be revealed later!) and I decided I want them with clear borders instead of white. This means hours and hours of cleaning up edges and erasing the backgrounds 🙃 My back and shoulders are slightly regretting this design decision atm.

If you feel like you missed the Northern Lights - as of right now, not necessarily! They are not constant, they will fluctuate. They will be really visible for a while then get really faint as if they're disappearing before coming back. This is normal. It's worth it to keep checking.

Here's what I managed to capture tonight without leaving the city! I had only minutes to get these. My gosh. For most of my life seeing the Aurora was just a bucket list item and now I get to see it multiple times without even having to travel for it. So exciting 💚💜 #aurora #northernlights

I was wondering what amount other artists offer free shipping from their online shop at and there just... wasn't any I could find? The only one I could find offered free shipping on orders over $150. Is this just an odd thing I've been doing, does this affect online shopping less than I thought?
