UPDATE: ACLU attorney Lee Gelernt reports that certain individuals Trump recently deported to El Salvador have been returned to the U.S. It was discovered these individuals either weren't Venezuelan or were women. Therefore, the Salvadoran government declined to take them.

The evidence against vouchers also has the markers of a good scientific literature: 1) Clear identifiable pattern (larger, newer voucher systems —> worse results) 2) Replicated by: multiple research labs (teams) and in multiple field sites (states). 3) Results hold over time.

I don't know if the LA fire department is properly funded or not but the claim that the city cut its budget last year — which is circulating widely on the right — is false. As Politico notes, the budget actually INCREASED by $50 million. A portion of the funding was approved in a separate bill.
