I have a longstanding friend whom I've known forever, and since we met the running joke was we were somehow long-lost siblings (we look surprisingly alike). Anyway, my not-sister just sent me a photo of her family and in the last few years we've grown matching grey streaks. This joke will never die.

Look, I know this is a little bit random, but I want to point out that the American comic book industry has always suffered from this weird inferiority complex about its place in the entertainment landscape and we really, REALLY need to get over that.

*tapping the god damned sign* DON'T tag creators in your bad reviews/threads about their work. Feel free to hate something! Obviously! But there is zero need to tell the creator about it. All it does it hurt. It's rude, and cruel, frankly. And if you want to say "Well you put something... (1/3)

I wonder, do more mainstream gamers get salty that Dispatch is basically a really pretty visual novel? I've seen it described as an "interactive narrative adventure" and like, sure... but that's a visual novel, folks. That's what visual novels are.

It is entirely keeping with the genre, but I do find it sort of funny that the "true" ending of Dispatch is absolutely a termination-worthy HR violation. It is the ending I went with, because I decided to play Robert as "a true hero, but soap-opera messy" in classic X-Men fashion. I'm just saying.

Things like being jarred out of my leisure time to go to work twice on a Saturday (once at 7am, once at 5pm) are why im tired all the time and find it hard to get art done.

I just started playing Dispatch and I gotta say someone was a coward for having multiple women call Robert a dad-bod early on without actually giving him anything aproximating a dad-bod.

I've been reading a lot of 80's paperback horror, specifically those huge 500+ page epics where you meet an entire town full of characters right before they're devoured / mutated / go mad, etc., so I felt inspired to paint a paperback novel cover for one that doesn't exist!

I'm for taxing the shit out of billionaires even if it doesn't directly help a single person, just to mitigate their impact on society. That said, Jeff's wealth alone could fund NASA for a decade, or PBS for 400 years, so I think we could probably find SOMETHING useful to spend it on.

If you're a writer, write "I waited" without saying it. "Illia turned her eyes out the window and toward the entry gate. Her hands rested on the windowsill and her index finger snapped out a single, sharp tap against the wood. Behind her, a full cup of heavily brewed tea sat, as cool as the room."

Delicious. The first couple of years when LLMs and image generators were coming out so many of my student workers were enamored with them. I'd tell them why I wasn't, all the information warfare stuff, and they'd get a 100 yard stare. Finally it's going wide with the young folk.

I'm a level 43 human today. 43's a bit of a dead level. All you get is a +1 CON and a contextual INT bonus. It is a prime number though, so that's nice. I'm not easily divisible.

The dearth of media literacy thing has been around for a while, but never mind interpreting texts critically, a lot of people now just straight up do not know how to even watch a TV show or movie in the first place anymore.

What’s the highest compliment you can give, can imagine, or have received? I was once told by an art mentor of mine, upon showing him my latest work, that "we're not going to talk about drawing today, because you've solved that problem". Probably live off that high for the rest of my life.
