Fascinating watching this distinction emerge in the defense of AI usage. I'd certainly argue that AI content IS in your game if you're using it to vomit up ideas but being aware enough to know it's bad to have in the game yet still using it at all, just exposes your whole hypocrisy

Metroid Prime 4 is a game that gets worse the more I think about it. It's not a good entry into the series, its probably a bad entry for new commers and gives the wrong idea of what the franchise is. Its story is laughable, its level design awful and just a overal mediocre mess thats just boring.

Back then probably Stardew or Overwatch of these games. Now, either Xcom 2 because they released an expansion that made it a game I like, or Titanfall 2 cause I’ve since played it and it’s still maybe the best FPS campaign ever.

Having now beat Metroid Prime 4, I could not give less of a shit about Sylux.

The ending of Prime 4 is a disaster.

Having watched both @bobvids.com play Martha is Dead and @friends-table.bsky.social play Horses it makes no sense that the former is on steam but the latter is not. Martha is Dead is far more shocking, explicit, exploitative and just downright awful than Horses.

I'm watching a playthrough of Horses and a thing I respect about it is that it knows suggesting horrors is more powerful than showing them. It depicts awful things, but rarely shows them in detail, allowing you to fill in the gaps which kinda makes it worse. It doesn't luxiuriate in the horror.

Metroid 4 prime spoilers: - - - - - - This game has one level with three noble deaths. Only the second really did anything for me. Already this was annoying. Then it reveals all three to be a fake out. This game has one decent human character, no stakes and no ideas beyond what Prime 1 did.

Playing Metroid Prime 4 is just kinda uneventful. A couple moments and areas hit, but it just doesn’t hold together. It just lacks an identify. And the identity it steals from Zelda is just so watered down and plain.

The nicest thing I can say about Prime 4 is that its comfortable and inoffensive. It's perfectly fine, it doesn't do anything massively wrong. It is passable. But like this is Metroid Prime! We should really be past the 360 era in terms of design. This game pushes nothing forward and has no ideas.

War between Land and Sea is pretty alright. Kinda annoyed this proves Russell and co continue to be capable of making good telly but just didn’t when it counted.

Saw the first episode of The War Between the Land and Sea... and gotta say - its actually good! I don't think we're in Children of Earth territory here, but its very solid. I honestly will find it kinda funny if this show ends up being better then the rest of Disney Doctor Who haha.

Finally actually playing Prime Remastered. I started it when it came out but didn’t make it far. I’m halfway though the Phazon Mines. This place fucking sucks! I sure do miss auto saves. I died twice, the second time half an hour into the section having not seen a place to save.

I watched the next time on for the upcoming season of Slow Horses and the cast is fucking stacked.

Slow Horses is a very good show. Its a marvel that in an era when limited series/shows that really shouldn't be limited series but are, are the norm, this is a show that finds a way to use that 6 episode format to its benefit. A thing Brtish TV has done for years but a lot of TV today fails to do.
