#Maddow
just blew my mind. CPAC, GOP & Trump courted Orban with the INTENT to model U.S./Project2025 on Orban's thieving, corrupt regime. Trump & Republicans apparently PLANNED to destroy U.S. for PROFIT, like Orban did to Hungary. CPAC & GOP *must* be criminally investigated in

I barely got to read the thread before the husband deleted it at his wife’s request but I hope they sue and get enough attention that society rejects self-checkout and that stores are forced to hire cashiers again. Bonus points if white folks start boycotting Target

NEWS: Virginia's governor vetoed a bill late last night that'd have banned prosecutors from pressuring Virginians into waiving their constitutional rights. That's right, local prosecutors often get defendants to sign away Fourth Amendment protections to get a plea — for years.

This Orban fellow is as dedicated a protofascist demagogue as our president. But we've now reached the point as a nation where it is notable and relevant to acknowledge that in Hungary, a protofascist demagogue at least has the marginal class and maturity to concede an election when he loses.

As Orbán is on course to lose the election in Hungary we can hope that this is the start of the end of far right parties and those that have taken up the same messaging. We must see off prople like Farage and Badenoch and rejoin the EU while we have time. We must refuse to become Trump's puppet.

Oh, calm down. I was a professor and I made a bet with a friend about the election in 2007. The fact that "most qualified" mattered more than "campaign talent" is why you've had two terms of Trump. I also bet on Bush in 1988, and with my profs on the 86 midterms. (I lost bigly.)

Trump was beatable, always has been, but the Democratic coalition has been unreliable and easily fractured - and tends to stay home. Hillary could have won if Democrats and Indies had just clenched their teeth and pulled that lever instead of Jill Stein and Gary what's his name

Very funny and ironic that the guy that will pump the breaks on Hungary's illiberal drift and prehaps kickstart a global reversal of illiberal popularism across the globe is literally named Magyar. If you pitched that to an editor you'd be laughed out of the room for being so on the nose.

Great news from the wonderful Pat Cadigan: “In case you couldn’t hear me partying here in London, I beat terminal cancer. I kicked its ass down the stairs, took its lunch money, and threw rocks at it as it ran away crying. I don’t have cancer any more.”

I agree the song was awful but it was worth it if only to hear Bob and Ray sing it on SNL with Jane, Laraine and Gilda. Hysterically funny and an instant classic.

there is a really odd thing where (some) people who want to criticize Trump feel the need to couch the criticism in a parallel criticism of a Democrat. It's like they just can't bring themselves to believe how bad Trump is, and can't just say 'what a whiny little bitch' and move on.

When you drop a bomb on civilians, I think that’s murder. I don’t really care for any justifications. They’re people. The enormity of the loss is devastating and it’s easier for some people to look away. But for other people, that’s their family. Their children. It’s just sickening and so wrong.

The Artemis II mission reminds me of these 1960s photos of NASA astronauts training in Iceland because they felt the terrain would be similar to what they'd encounter on the moon. The outfits are so great, even some 60 years later.
