It's actually 16. Setting aside some people's concerns, It's probably best having a mixed fleet. Several Nato countries operate the F 35 which would be good for joint operations and then having the Gripens for Canada's needs. The rumor is 40 F-35s, 80 Gripens. The Gripen is ideal for our geography.

People need to understand what happened strategically in 2025. The US switched sides, helped Putin a great deal, which also encouraged the Chinese to help Putin. And Ukraine fought on, inflicting massive casualties on Russia and taking the war to the Russian economy. .
