We're holding a hustings event next Thursday (16th April) jointly with Living Streets and @lowtraffichackney.bsky.social. This will be an exellent opportunity to hear each candidate's vision for active travel in Hackney, and to ask them questions on walking, cycling and wheeling.

If you live near or visit London Fields this may be of interest to you: consultation.hackney.gov.uk/housing-serv... A child was hit and injured here a few years ago. While we understand the desire to improve safety, this will in effect bar users of adapted cycles / mobility scooters / cargo bikes.

Court of Appeal just ruled Tower Hamlets DECISION to remove the Bethnal Green LTN is UNLAWFUL. Councils can't remove without going through proper process & getting Mayor of London's approval. This is a MASSIVE precedent for London. Years of work vindicated. #SaveOurSaferStreets #LTN

Consultation to support: the Dalston LN scheme would substantially improve walking & cycling. But, the proposed filters would leave a route open for through-traffic from Cecilla Rd to Montague Rd, and the scheme should be adjusted to address this. consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/...

Whiston Road, a road the Hackney Cycling Campaign has lobbied Hackney Council to traffic calm for many years, is now filtered and, after a brief adjustment period, enforcement is imminent. Thanks to supporters and @hackneycouncil.bsky.social for prioritising sustainable & active travel.

Heat map of most of my cycle journeys over the last year. Much to be done, but thanks to @hackneylcc.bsky.social @cycleislington.uk and others, much of the city feels incredibly safe already. Cycling as my primary mode of transport has saved 100s of hours and probably over £1000 this year alone
