I just want people to remember that what this was was transparently obvious at the time and universally condemned. Hold on to that fact and don't let people change it under you.

The fact that the Minnesota child care ”scandal” is getting significant play shows just how wired the news environment is for the right. There are dozens of things that Trump is doing that deserve more attention but this is the world we inhabit.

This is all happening because “elites” have convinced themselves that no one in their clique should ever face consequences for their malevolence and/or incompetence.

We need pundit accountability. Too many people who populate green rooms and op-ed pages are hitting below the Mendoza line and it hurts all of us when they continue to get a platform.
