a woman reached out to donate 500,000 delta skymiles to get people home to MN as they are released from custody in TX. we're getting flights booked today. it should be enough to get at least 15 people home. delta should be doing for free since they take ICE money.

For places trying to reckon with the new US there are two countries to listen to. Canada, because we see what's happening there with the most clarity. And Finland, because they know what to do about it.

I keep reading about how "Canada knew" about the American breakdown before everybody else. I just want to say I had a book out called "The Next Civil War" and absolutely everybody I spoke to about it began every conversation with "Aren't you being alarmist?" Nobody wanted to see it. So nobody did.

A major sign of things getting dire in DC is when House members start breaking kayfabe like this. It's really, REALLY not fun to be a minority caucus member under a lame duck president. A cushy board seat or academic chairmanship sounds a LOT better and the race for the exits is obvious.

Alligator Alcatraz has been halted because of the Miccosukee Tribe. But look at how it's reported. Native people constantly fight for not only the land, but human rights -- and their contributions are consistently erased. And everyone does it. Erasing Native voices is the true American pastime.
