She is appealing a 2025 conviction for misusing European Parliament funds. The lower court sentenced her to prison time, suspended pending appeal, and imposed a five-year ban on holding elected office.

Le Pen denies wrongdoing and hopes to run for president again. If barred, her protege Jordan Bardella could replace her.

A new CD arrived in my house today! LFO (Arista, 07822-14605-2, 1999) got lost in the boy band shuffle. They had two top-10 Hot 100 hits during the Y2K days ("Summer Girls" and "Girl on TV") and, on the strength of those, this album went Platinum and got them on Nickelodeon's "The Amanda Show"...

...but it apparently wasn't enough to keep their star from falling as quickly as it rose...so quickly, in fact, that three of the videos from this album have been on YouTube for almost as long as the website existed.
