As a Michigan law student, I represented young women in judicial bypass hearings—basically, convincing a judge that a minor had the capacity to decide NOT to have a child (rather than require consent from a parent that would never give it). Failing meant the minor would be forced to have a child.

In 2004, I obtained mifepristone for a medical abortion at age 16 without parental consent. It required I stand shaking, unrepresented before a judge and argue for my own worth, intelligence, and future. If anyone thinks this is going down without a fight, they are sadly fucking mistaken.
