Game studio from Louisiana.

pinned post!
An introduction to this project: we're a small game studio based in South Louisiana. Our first release NORCO (2022) is a sci-fi graphic adventure set in the New Orleans suburbs. Gameplay resembles Hideo Kojima's Snatcher or a modernized MacVenture such as Deja Vu.

Not Writing Games

One of the best games I've played in recent memory. Full of moments that I will think about forever. Surreal, hyperreal, and small town familiarity all at once. There's nothing like it.

Norco is a masterclass in atmosphere. Every element - the haunting soundtrack, the striking pixel art, and the surreal narrative - works in perfect harmony. It is a deeply affecting experience from

This reminded me of the Teesside Steelworks near where I once lived and all the things that died with it. They got rid of it with the largest single explosive demolition in British history.

I've bought NORCO three times, most recently the PS5 edition from
@lostincult.co.uk
, because it's such a great example of a game firing on all cylinders. I look at these and find myself nostalgic for a five year old game. "Oh, I remember where I was in that scene, and that scene, and that scene."

We went out for a late Aldi run recently and the sky was intensely glowing red in the distance. We initially thought a house a street or two over was on fire but nah, just one of the chemical plants off of Airline. I’ve grown up around these things but I hadn’t seen it that intense in a while.

The blog Sky City had a good run (2006 - 2019). It documented retail stores across the South (and eventually elsewhere), many of them shuttered or dying. Included advertisements, site plans, etc. A great attempt to capture a bit of the history of the prodigious Southern suburbs.

With so many games being released every year it's easy to let some fall by the wayside, and that needs to not happen with NORCO. Easily one of the best releases of the last few years.
