Just spoke to my local library - they said they cannot offer extended hours for refuge from the heat as they do not have the funding š. Sucks that local councils have to fund this .. where is the Federal Environment minister? They're the ones approving new coal and gas mines.

In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system. Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now itās collapsing.
