watching these fires rip through los angeles. hearing what friends left behind. seeing what's left of a street just blocks from my childhood home. a lifeguard tower burning on the beach that we'd sneak away to after class. "it's like driving through hell." it's too much, this world we've created.

anyone in this lovely #writingcommunity ever rewritten their novel from 3rd --> 1st person? if so, how did it go? was it worth it? any tips?

when a contest tells you that you "did not ~quite~ make it to finalist round," what am i supposed to take from that? was the piece a contender that narrowly missed the cut off? was it a flop? is this a case of unnecessary adverbs? i don't recommend this line of thinking, but here i am.
