We were supposed to be in Toronto this week, with Jays games planned for Sunday and Monday, and maybe today. Bummed we couldn’t make the trip, but at least the Jays made sure I didn’t miss anything.

Our oldest just asked how much longer the Blue Jays season is. “A little more than two months.” The stare I got back was basically: “Oh my God … this never ends.” Welcome to baseball, kiddo. I’ve had that exact feeling every summer for 40 plus years.

Years ago, we were in Florida during a stretch of cold weather. I remember a local news graphic showing the eastern half of North America, with “COLD” written over Canada and arrows pointing to Florida. As though we’d set up fans along the border and aimed them at the state. Same vibe here.
