In lieu of a 2026 prediction, my 5-10ish year prediction is that contemporary art will see a dramatic snap towards intricate, highly technical work. A dual response to the AI slop era and deskilled conceptual work that's proliferated in the past few decades

GUEST POST: In modern college sports, is it possible to measure teams' academic progress?
For years, the NCAA has used two metrics, APR and GSR, to track teams' academic standing. But with the advent of NIL and increased transfers, where do those metrics â and academics in general â fit?

Today, I obtained a file from the FBI via FOIA that states the FBI has no record of receiving such a tip.

Chatbots â LLMs â do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When theyâre ârightâ itâs because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. Thatâs all.

Why did Indiana University attack and cut its own student newspaper? Well, in a twist of irony any English professor would call clichéd, it turns out IU did it because they were angry about the students' reporting on a FIRE report naming IU as the worst public university for free speech in the US.
