Adventure day 8 update: we headed inland today for a variety of familiar & new (to me) birds in oak forests & grasslands. Some good sightings from afar. Then the group stopped at a bakery but I lingered outside & had great moments w/ an acorn woodpecker colony, WBNU & BEWR. On our free afternoon, 6

of us went back to the coast to enjoy surf & last bit of sun. Oystercatchers, otters, coots & so many Calif ground squirrels. Met friendly volunteers doing seabird counts. Evening Lecture on Monterey history. Now thunder & rain have arrived & birding is unlikely tomorrow. Not sure what our plan is.

I don't just needle felt animals! 😁 Seriously, this is the most addictive, and stress relieving craft I've ever done! Stabby, stab, stab. 😆 I was so curious to see if I could "paint" with wool! I added some embroidery too. It's called "The Lake", and it's an imaginary place to escape to. 😊

It took two evenings to make this sweetiepup. 🥰 I can sense I'm probably going to get attached, and will end up with a shelf full I can't part with. 😜🫠
