Preparing for our West Africa trip I had been very excited about seeing Hamerkops, and even after the several-hundredth one we saw, I still took way too many pictures. Such a strange looking creature! #birding

SO EXCITED for this footage. I've been watching thousands of crows roost at sunset for awhile, but I've struggled to get quality flying in front of moon footage. Last night I captured 8 of the 10,000+ crows take the path I've wanted. More, better, to come in the future! But super jazzed for now 🪶

One of the first #bird calls I learned in Senegambia was the Yellow-crowned Gonolek, a startlingly loud oropendula-like whistle-gobble. I took this pic at slow shutter-speed in the dim morning light which shows the motion blur in the bill as he calls.
