Someone else pointed out that the bills she's vetoing tend to be morally sound but legally untenable, basically putting a legal bullseye on any state official attempting to enforce them. States have some flexibility about refusing to assist federal officials but they can't really override them.

The legislation as written would have created several legal headaches, one of which being state law would have required local officials to violate federal law in trying to prevent arrests. States cannot nullify federal powers on state property, which she pointed out, and which her critics ignored.

The guy behind the racist Libertarian Party of NH account (Jeremy Kauffman) just got arrested. He allegedly bumped a car, hurled racial slurs at a Jamaican man, and had to be dragged away by his own kids. He refused to ID himself and resisted officers. Trial is in July.

I keep seeing polls that say voters hate Dems and their brand is in the tank. It may be true. Voters may hate Dems more than they hate losing their insurance, homes, farms, and so on. If so there's no "kitchen table issue" that will fix that until voters end their tantrum and join the real world.
