It’s getting a bit lame and tired every time Trump loses an election he claims without evidence it’s because of cheating and “fraud.” Now he’ll roll out some new measure to make it harder for people to vote because he can’t admit to losing. C’mon. Who’s fooled at this point. It’s tiresome.

It is wild the degree to which the formerly capitalist free market anti-socialism cohort in American politics has been absolutely silent about Trump behaving like the CCP and having the government essentially force giant companies to make the state a co-owner and give Trump a management say. Wild.

A coalition that ranges from democratic socialists to neoconservatives, including a lot of energized liberals in between, is large and formidable. A big pro-democracy tent. A united front. Any internal disagreements can be hashed out once the authoritarian emergency is over. This really can work.

America had normal elections across the country today. An unpopular president’s party suffered a rebuke at the polls in sign that our system of democratic accountability still works. The dangers to that system are real and remain, but our democracy is not dead yet. It’s on us to keep it that way.

The carceral state is generally brutal and evil in the way it treats the human beings it cages, but it’s fine to point out when there are bursts of unusually concentrated or vigorous evil and use it to get people to care.

CZ pleaded guilty to a criminal money laundering charge and was sentenced to prison. But then he financed President Trump’s stablecoin and lobbied for a pardon. Today, he got it. If Congress does not stop this kind of corruption, it owns it.

It is impossible to imagine people allowing this to go on (or even participating in it within the government) if he was ordering the murder without any process of French citizens or Brits or Australians on boats no matter what they were alleged to be doing.

If & when federal courts (& SCOTUS) insist on deferring to the President's determination that deploying the Natl Guard is necessary for the enforcement of federal law, safety, etc. - please remember Trump says he's making such decisions based in part on what the CEOs of Salesforce & NVIDIA tell him.
