Duluth voters overwhelmingly approved last year a “Right to Repair” ordinance that gives landlords 14 days to fix broken items or tenants can deduct repair costs from up to half their rent/$500. Is St. Paul next? Signatures being collected now for ballot question:

Just guessing here, but I suspect the White House is pushing so hard for wars of conquest on multiple fronts because they see their support collapsing ahead of the midterms and worry they won't get another shot. An example of how tyrants become more dangerous as they get weaker, not less.

For anyone who has been impressed with our mayor, who forcefully demands that ICE get the fuck out of our city: he went on Fox yesterday to announce that he does *not* support abolishing ICE, an agency that didn’t even exist until after 9/11. This is not a serious person. Do not be taken in.

This poll shows that 74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting getting rid of the agency. Any elected Democrat who wants ICE to exist is outside the mainstream of their party and the people they purport to represent.

The MPD union, at least, has made it clear which side they are on. This is the cost of DECADES of (everyone, everywhere) refusing to deal with the rising right-wing and white-nationalist involvement in policing.

Whatever one thought of it in the moment it's clear that a wide swath of Saint Paul residents have given SPPD a lot of good faith assumptions during an era when policing is under greater scrutiny. And I think today is gonna mark a major shift in that sentiment for a significant chunk of citizens.
