One of my favorite parts of R is that there are many paths to the same result. A simple task can be written with a for loop, the apply family, purrr, vectorized base R, or even Rcpp. The real skill isn’t memorizing syntax—it’s knowing when to choose each option. #RStats

Crotchety public health opinion: I don't care how much linked data you've got, what programming tools you use, or what fancy machine learning algorithms you use if you ignore obvious biases underlying data and don't have an effective intervention.

The webRios iOS app by @coatless.bsky.social is great for little #RStats experiments on my phone or tablet without having to boot my computer. Like testing little functions and syntax, or while reading up on Advanced R (1st and 2nd ed.) or any other R books!
