Anyone out there familiar with Highland Pro? It’s TWICE deleted all of the writing in a document for no apparent reason, wiping hours of work. Does this happen to other people? I don’t want to give up on it because I like the UI and I paid for it, but I don’t think this is a risk I can keep taking.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

My friends took me to Ice Queen, and it made me remember a time in summer 2020, when Iived in Portland, and I posted a pic of Emily and I getting paletas there. An acquaintance who watched conservative media told me the photo was impossible, since Portland was a war zone fire riot or whatever.

I truly had NO IDEA what kind of turn out we’d have for the REEL LIFE launch party at and was fully prepared for it to be a handful of friends. Instead, kids were banging down the door before we started and it ended up standing room only, with about 170 PEOPLE. Thanks to everyone who came!

Do you need photo reference to draw a comic? No. Can it actually get in the way sometimes? Yes. Even if you’re going to do it, do you need to go to the actual locations in which the story takes place? Obviously not. But it’s so darn fun!

Like every 'toonist, I could give you an earful about how comics are NOT like movies. But REEL LIFE is about kids trying to make sense of their troubles through filmmaking, so I shot these reference photos with an anamorphic lens attachment for my phone.

What if there was an old-timey joke and we took it as fact? That happened! One "fact" people know about early films is that audiences panicked at oncoming trains but it actually started out as a joke, as we see in the 1901 British comedy THE COUNTRYMAN AND THE CINEMATOGRAPH.
