My friends took me to Ice Queen, and it made me remember a time in summer 2020, when Iived in Portland, and I posted a pic of Emily and I getting paletas there. An acquaintance who watched conservative media told me the photo was impossible, since Portland was a war zone fire riot or whatever.

I truly had NO IDEA what kind of turn out we’d have for the REEL LIFE launch party at and was fully prepared for it to be a handful of friends. Instead, kids were banging down the door before we started and it ended up standing room only, with about 170 PEOPLE. Thanks to everyone who came!

Bishop’s Peak Elementary School is not only my alma mater, it’s one of the main settings of REEL LIFE, so it was a great place to do my first book event. So fun to talk and draw with a couple hundred current students from first through sixth grade! Thanks to Ms. Kelly for making it all happen!
