finally rewatching ep 2 with subtitles and I just gotta shoutout how good the 0713 guys are at communicating with each other. You can tell how stressed everyone is learning the dance and Cantonese lyrics, but they talk out misunderstandings calmly and respectfully. It's so refreshing 💖 #cmbf5

I hope Call Me By Fire (披荆斩棘) S5 will be good. I loved S4 sooooo much last year, that it's already going to be hard to compare. I'm trying to keep in mind that I was wary about the "kids" joining the lineup at the start of S4 and ended up adoring their addition to the show. (1/?)

A character make a (seemingly) throwaway comment about friends having an "oops" baby someday, then three fics later in that series they did. It was fun when some people reread the older fic later and were like "wait you planned this 2 yrs ago??" That's the first one that came to mind at least lol

“Sit. I will make lunch,” LWJ says finally, turning to the fridge. At least that is full, LQR thinks. His own appetite is small, but he’s been feeding WWX fairly regularly, and he’d gone shopping in anticipation of having two more young men in the house for the holiday.

It's a short time later that lwj receives an enthusiastic message from wwx that the tour is over, he's coming home, and they can finally meet at the studio. lwj sends his congratulations (genuine) and his own enthusiasm (questionable) because now he's going to see wwx. And a promise is a promise.

So many feelings! - the "friends & family discount" bc wwx is one and will eventually be the 2nd too - lqr gaining new appreciation for wwx's work by copying it out not entirely unlike wwx with the Lan rules in canon - LWJ has arrived!!!

WWX cackles, and kisses him. ‘You wouldn’t know what to do with me if I did,’ he says, which LWJ takes as a challenge to demonstrate a lot of things he can think of to do with WWX, talking or not. It takes the rest of the show’s running time and a change of location before he’s made his point.

a soft ache in his chest. He, too, longs for those times. Maybe not for the simplicity, as there had been nothing simple about the myriad feelings that had awoken in him after meeting wwx, but for a time where he could look up and wwx would be there, laughing and carefree. I understand, he replies.

“Fine, I’ll think about it,” WWX says. LQR fixes him with a look. “No really,” WWX protests. “I promise I will honestly consider it, okay?” He makes a show of tucking the flyer carefully in his bag. “Okay,” LQR echoes, sensing that he has pushed as far as is advisable today.

They share a look of understanding as LQR realizes he is not the only one who has some choice words for WWX’s family. “Aiya,” she says. “Now we’ve gone and over-steeped the tea.” She turns away from him, and the moment passes.

reiterates that he's happy to accommodate wwx's request and provides his info. wwx immediately sends him a text, emojis and stickers almost obscuring a very simple "Hi!" And then the call is over, and lwj feels like he needs to sleep for a thousand years to recover from the emotional whiplash.

Just FYI, don't do this in real life. According to the comments, this otter was raised and released back into the wild by this human. Nobody in their right mind should do this with an actual wild animal. They can be vicious and can do a lot of damage if they attack.

(He likes being a lost cause, where WWX is concerned.) They don’t see each other every day, because their schedules don’t match up, but every few days WWX will pick LWJ up, they’ll eat together and catch up and end up spending the night together. LWJ thinks he could really get used to it.

Once A'Yuan's attention is drawn to it, the matter becomes urgent, and WWX excuses them hastily, scooping A’Yuan up and making for the public restroom. LQR rises more slowly, bussing their table and tucking in the chairs fastidiously before he heads off to catch his train. Better luck next time.

Best not to push too hard, if that is the case. Young people need to be free to stretch their wings, he thinks. If you try to tie them down, they will never nest near home. “Just let me know when your plans are certain,” LQR says. “Safe travels home.”

The next few weeks are amazing. No notes, definitely in the top three time periods of LWJ’s entire life. He sees a lot of WWX (both figuratively and literally), quite a bit of A-Yuan, and yes, WWX managed to rescue most of his visual data so he can get back to his projects. Things are good.

Probably nothing will come of it, LQR thinks. But still. One never knows which seeds, once planted, may eventually bear fruit. If nothing else, at least A’Huan has something to take his mind off things for a night, and enjoy some time out with friends. He tries not to be too pleased with himself.
