The government has delivered on pledges on immigration, NHS, policing and workers’ rights. It clearly isn’t helping. Were they the wrong pledges all along? Were they the wrong things to prioritise? Or has Britain become “ungovernable”, as some claim? (I think there’s a decent argument for each.)
