I recently met with representatives from Kazakhstan to share my thoughts on how Parliament is used to promote democracy and rights here in the UK and how it can be a model for countries across the globe.🏫✅️

I recently joined MPs, diplomats and community leaders in Parliament to celebrate Nowruz - Kurdish New Year!🎇

Labour has just released the biggest single funding allocation to deliver more places for children with SEND on record. Manchester City Council is receiving over £10m to help create new places in inclusion bases in schools, make buildings accessible and create new special school places.

Last week the Labour Government announced £860 million, the largest ever single funding allocation, for SEND to deliver even more places children with SEND. Over £10 million coming directly to Manchester.🧑‍🧒‍🧒

I joined the Sewage Campaign Network to learn more about their fight to clean up our waterways.💧 As the Chair of the APPG on Parks and Green Spaces I want to see action that cleans up our waterways and to see companies dumping waste held responsible.🌳🌊

Great to see Jack who studies at The University of Manchester in Parliament last week displaying his research on removing pollutants from water!🧪💧 Work like his will keep our environment healthy and our waterways clean.✅️

Excellent to see the Government commit to introducing mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting - something I've been campaigning on for years. As well as reporting, we must see effective enforcement to address the gaps in pay to work towards a fairer society. buff.ly/qkE8L1h

I went on a walkabout with Guinness Housing to see some of their properties in my constituency.🏘️ They told me about some refurbishments they're doing to make their properties even better - I can't wait to see the end result!🏚️

Communities across Manchester have always been welcoming to refugees - we're a proud sanctuary city. That's why I met with representatives campaigning for community sponsorship of refugees to find out what more I can do to help refugees in the UK.

I had such a good time with friends at the Turkish Embassy at their iftar towards the end of Ramadan!☪️

So good to be at 10 Downing Street as part of a BAME Labour Party meeting last week!🌹 I spoke to the Prime Minister about my commitment to a fair asylum and immigration system that puts respect at the heart of how we treat people coming to the UK.✅️

I'm deeply alarmed to hear about an arson attack on ambulances belonging to a Jewish community charity. The rise in hate crime we have seen in recent months - particularly targeting religious minorities - undermines the fabric of British society. We must do all we can to tackle all forms of racism.

Attended another fantastic iftar recently - this time at the award-winning Manchester Museum in my constituency!

The Prime Minister has rightly called out Tories rampant and disgusting anti-Muslim hostility. People like Nick Timothy do not represent this country when they blatantly insult Muslims simply for praying - he should be deeply ashamed of himself and Kemi Badenoch should sack him.
