How much is the cruise industry contributing to pay for the shore power which is reducing the pollution they are causing?

We’ve been studying what happens to zooplankton when it gets sucked into a cruise ship’s scrubber. @junolocal.bsky.social calls it “a sulfuric hell chamber.” The cruise ships use live sea water to flush the toxins out of their dirty exhaust and that water is filled with life that gets destroyed.

1st thing comes to mind seeing these big, belching, corporate behemoths is a t-shirt made by a guy I knew, of a grizzled old Mainer holding a can of Bud, middle finger sticking straight out sideways, saying "Friggin' outta state bungholes." Coastal Maine loves tourists, but hates these polluters.
