This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

This horrific incident must be investigated thoroughly, transparently, and with Maine officials involved every step of the way. We need answers. We need accountability. And we need to abolish ICE.

We just learned that the person killed by ICE was NOT the target of the operation. (To be clear, even if they were, this shooting would NOT have been justified.) We’re also hearing that the victim’s family may have witnessed the incident—including a three-year-old child.

Raising taxes on accommodations and especially cruise ships is good for city residents, and cruise ships are both globally and locally an environmentally irresponsible way to travel that cities should discourage for public health.

Cruises are environmental and infectious diseases disasters, the city is right to maximize fees in order to discourage them! Travel will continue to be a leisure activity disproportionately for the rich. Better for the environment and poorer people to make cities cheaper to live in, not to visit.
