Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This day marks the liberation of Auschwitz and we mourn the millions of lives lost more than 80 years ago.

A problem in Maine is Border Patrol defines our entire state as the border. We fought this unsuccessfully about 20 years ago when I was head of the ACLU, warning about abuse of power then. It’s time for Congress to fix that.

Arresting people who are legally here. Terrorizing our neighbors. Harming our local businesses. ICE out now.

We will not be held ransom by the Trump administration. Our voter rolls and the privacy of the people of Maine is not for sale.

It was so empowering to see so many of our neighbors show up in Lewiston to tell ICE that they are not welcome here. We need now more than ever to stand up for our Somali friends and neighbors; they make us stronger. ICE needs to be out of Maine and out of our country.

This isn’t enforcement. It’s brutality. No more masks. No more arrests without real warrants. No more secret police.

As ICE agents continued to operate in Maine on Thursday, they have detained at least three people who seem to be just going about their lives, and to not be the master criminals the Trump administration claims to be targeting in Maine. Read the full story at the link below.

Also, you can’t cancel something you’re not in charge of, President Trump. The midterm elections aren’t getting cancelled - not on my watch, not while brave state and local election officials all across the country are on the job.

Another big win today in the fight to protect voter data! This time in California. Kudos to CA Secretary Shirley Weber. We’re so much stronger because 27 states, red and blue, are in this fight to protect voter data and our democracy together.

This is a big win for every American. Proud of every Secretary of State joined in the fight to protect our voter lists and the integrity of our elections - run by the states, not the feds, under the Constitution. When we fight, we win.

Donald Trump pulled $2 billion dollars of federal funding for mental health and recovery resources. These are real people that will be affected by this and who will suffer. We need to be lifting up and helping our community, not cutting them off from the care they deserve
