The lack of any scepticism (outside of the trans community and clinicians) re: the Cass Review is astounding. It’s trash. It rejects the consensus on puberty blockers on the most spurious grounds. It’s a politically motivated document produced by people who were working back from their conclusion.

Hot off the press! @jaimackenzie.bsky.social and I's article exploring representations of the charity Mermaids in the British press. We find that, between 2015 & 2022, the image of the charity as a useful source of support is supplanted by the image of a dangerous and controversial organisation.
