Seeing them in the cinema again just made me think how much better practical effects-ship models, the animatronic and costume aliens, and the miniatures often age so much better than CGI.

Gotta say, seeing Alien and Aliens on the big screen again was awesome.

A fine episode, in which Mr The Dice and his hetero life-mate Blythy get nostalgic about being nostalgic about bobbins. Thanks for all the great content gentlemen, and thanks for letting me contribute my inane scribblings to the Grogblog, which I still count as one of the highlights of my RPG years.

Does anyone else think Alien:Earth is neutering the xenomorph as a threat? My goodness, the plot armour on the Joe character! I'm finding the story choices increasingly frustrating and it's a rich world with potentially so many areas you could explore.

First three TTRPG box sets? -Star Frontiers Alpha Dawn -Star Frontiers Knight Hawks I didn't buy another box set until I finally got my hands on Mausritter. What does that say about me? That I really like Star Frontiers, and that I didn't have much money as a teen in the 80s!

Spread the word. Men of advanced years descend on that London in a selection of check and fantasy themed t-shirts. I've only managed to attend one of these so far but it was a friendly and fun day.
