My Sunday face-to-face TTRPG sessions have officially come to an end. Two years of fun, making new friends and having amazing adventures. Situations change and that can't be helped, but I'm sad to see them end. Maybe one day I'll be in a better position to host more games, but for now it's adiós.

My wife has finished both of the Star Wars Jedi games and is really enjoying Outlaws, and loves the Andor and The Mandalorian series. She's asked me if my WEG Star Wars D6 First Edition game could run such games and if I'd do one for her, and baby that's the greatest thing you've ever said to me.

Jones is trying to destroy my ships. She's just done for the Victory and the Charlotte, she's got the Cutty Sark and the Confection in her sights, now.

Jones stayed with me all afternoon as I worked on my current project. She helped. And when I say helped I mean slept. She'd had a long day of doing fuck all. It was moral support.

My ALIEN flight suit doesn't fit me anymore so my son tried it on and it looks great. He looks like he's about to start his first tour on the Nostromo. We're going to get a new one for me but that one is going to be for the USCSS Fidanza, the ship I named for the ALIEN RPG.

I think I've written enough dark, bleak, deep space sci-fi for one day. Time to cheer myself up with some Ghost in the Shell.

An excellent surprise delivery this morning; A History of Dead Space by Elijah Beahm from @lostincult.co.uk landed on my doorstep and it couldn't have come at a better time! It's a beautifully presented and bound book and I'm really excited to get into it.

I just found the Cinefex/Titan Books release 'ALIEN The Special Effects' from about 1997, and for eight pounds it was a good find. They usually go for around 15-20 pounds from what I've seen. This is one book that wasn't on my ALIEN radar and I found it by chance, so I'm pretty pleased with that.

One more episode of ALIEN Earth to go. I have thoughts and opinions on the show - of course I do - but I'm going to keep them to myself until I've watched that last episode. It came around really quickly, and it's gone even quicker! I am enjoying the weekly episodes instead of a binge dump.

Look at these glorious sets from ALIEN Romulus. It was great to see, because it takes talent and passion to get it from the drawing board to a physical set. The sets of ALIEN Earth give me the same vibes, especially the Maginot. Absolutely my kind of thing, I'd have hung out in them for hours.

I think it's time for me to find some signed ALIEN memorabilia. It's a tough call, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Today's ALIEN collectable. The 1979 print of 'The Book of ALIEN' is finally back in my hands. There's a bit of water damage, something the seller didn't include in the description, but to be fair I got it really cheap and it's in better condition than the one I used to have!

I used to mess around on my mobile telephone Sketch app and created some silly but stylistic images. I ended up using some of them in a 'Those Dark Places' adventure because I liked the stark look of them. I might have another go with some new drawings. It's a cool little app.

I've written a full 27k word roleplaying game that's just Those Dark Places but set on tall ships in the late 19th century. I wanted to answer the question 'What if ALIEN, but on a clipper?' It's just sat there, doing nothing. I need to do something with it.

ALIEN collectable delivery #2 - an issue of Fantastic Films showcasing the release of ALIEN. It's in fantastic condition, I'm really happy with this one.

ALIEN collectables delivery #1 for today - the Spectrum 48k version of the ALIEN computer game from 1984. It's bigger than I thought it was going to be! Sadly the booklet is missing but that's something I might be able to find separately. I need to unpack my 128 +2 with built-in datacorder!

I think there's better looking starships out there, but the Nostromo works because it not only looks the part it also has a lot of character. She's grimy, bulky and grey, but she LOOKS like she could pull something ten times her size, with chunky engines that look like muscles. Amazing design.

One of the dangers of collecting older merchandise is the issue of reproductions. I was about to pull the trigger on a couple of original ALIEN lobby cards but something didn't sit right so I asked for some better images to show any wear and tear. The seller was honest and said there wasn't...

After a couple of days of ALIEN shopping, I've got the following coming this week: - An original box and cassette of the 1984 ALIEN Spectrum game (sadly sans booklet). - An issue of Fantastic Films magazine with an ALIEN feature. - An original 1979 print of The Book of Alien. That's a good haul.

Purely by chance I've just found and purchased an original Spectrum release box and cassette! Sadly, the booklet is missing but for a tenner I couldn't say no. It'll look great on my collection shelf until I can get that.

The 1984 ALIEN computer game was excellent; I played the Spectrum 48K version after I saw ALIENS in 1986 and really enjoyed it. It couldn't do much with the graphics or the processing power of the Spectrum so it focused on stressing you out, not knowing where the creature would be. It was good.

I forget, sometimes, just how big the Narcissus set was. It was a stuntman who went up the tailpipe, after all, so a full size rear had to be built. It's a testamant to the miniature builders and the shooting team's sense of scale that this full-size set and the models fit togetehr seamlessly.

This is still free! I wrote this #ttrpg as a pick-up-and-play science fiction game, so gran a copy and be ready to run a game in as little as ten minutes. There are loads of supplements to go with it as well - adventures, sourcebooks and supplements to expand your adventures amongst the stars.

This is a really interesting ALIEN poster for the Magnetic Video release in 1980. The choice to show the skull as the dominant feature is certainly very different from the usual smooth dome images used. I don't remember seeing this advertisement before. Artwork by R.M. Laslo.

I've got the BattleTech bug, and I really want to take MechWarrior Destiny for a spin. I have very fond memories running ops for House Davion in Kuritan space using the first edition rules. Fourth Succession War for the win!
