Today's Sunday roast was buzzed by a P-51. The local Sywell airfield has warbirds they take up, they've got a Mustang, a Spitfire, a 109 and I think a Yak. What a sight.

The Wraith culling in Stargate Atlantis is fucking terrifying. The Season 1 Episode 17 episode 'Letters From Pegasus' shows one in action and the sound of the Darts and the screaming just makes my skin crawl.

So, the great things that happened to me at the UK Games Expo. Well, important things first. After years I finally managed to get Jon Hodgson's autograph in my original print of the Dragon Warriors TTRPG, and I *finally* got Marc Gascoigne's autograph in my FF Titan book to go with all the others!

Post UK Games Expo thoughts. God, this show has gotten big. Five halls and a hotel? I don't think I got to see everything in just a day, if it's going to be like this then I might have to start doing multiple days. It was a great show and yes, I'm miffed that I don't think I got to see it all.

I'm all scrubbed up and ready for the UK Games Expo. It's just an excuse to get a haircut and wear a shirt, really.

So now I have to wait another year for some more 'For All Mankind'. This is now one of my favourite science fiction TV shows.

I'm going to the UK Games Expo tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it this year. I've had some great releases over the year, got projects ongoing and I'm always looking for new opportunities. However, I'm really looking forward to just meeting up, hanging out, and chatting about games.

Happy 47th Birthday to ALIEN - I didn't see it until 1982 on a tiny black and white portable TV and it remains my favourite movie of all time. It's aged exceptionally well, both visually and thematically.

We're powering through our Stargate rewatch and we've paused SG-1 at S8E2 and started Atlantis for a little while. It's such good fun. The very few issues I have with the show are vastly overshadowed by the entertainment value and I'm loving the rewatch. Watch order below.

I'm 55 today and I think I'll relax by getting back into the D&D MMO Neverwinter for a while. My character Swordsong has been idle for a few months so it'll be nice to see what's changed.

When I think about a movie that I can just watch and be inspired by the visuals - basically just drink in what I see and revel in how it makes me feel - I always turn to Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey'. It's an absolute masterclass in framing and scale, with incredible model work and effects.

I get excited about certain TTRPGs not because of what they are but because of what I can do with that game. The upcomng Mongoose 'Pioneer' RPG is one such game and after S5E9 of 'For All Mankind' and this setting concept trailer I think I know what I'm doing with it. youtu.be/LEpm1_j1dYM?...

I'm on holiday. For the next week I'll be relaxing/exploring/experiencing/inspired by the great land of Cornwall, a place I've not been to in 30 years. I'm really excited (but not for the 5 hour drive).

It's my annual circle around back to Dark Future, the Games Workshop alternative history car combat game. I still think this would make a fantastic TTRPG because of its rich setting. I pursued it a couple of years ago but it's not a license that GW is looking to support right now. Shame.

Maybe... maybe I should be a player character in a game and not the gamemaster. I want to bring back my cyberpunk character Zeke Greyfellow, and perhaps that's what I'm missing. I'm so focused on wanting to create a game I should spend more time actually experiencing one and being a player.
