Yesterday we rushed Jones to the vet because she was sleeping all the time, off her food, and she had a big crusty lump on her head. It turned out to be a probable dried cyst; the vet popped it off. The sleep/food thing seemed unconnected as today she's her usual dickhead self. All good.

Apparently this is a Factory Entertainment 1:18 3.75" scale Colonial Viper with a Boomer action figure that's coming out soon. I mean, what a great looking ship. The MkII is my favourite starfighter, I love it more than the X-wing. I said what I said.

And a surprise #fightingfantasy gift from my incredible wife - the new hardback edition of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. It's a gorgeous cover and it can join the several thousand other copies of the same book I have. I can't wait to get a new office and get my entire collection on display.

Today's ALIEN buy - another copy of the ALIENS Colonial Marines Technical Manual. I already have it, but not with this cover. I found it in an antiques store, of all places. Only £7 and in great condition.

It's been a hell of a week, and I think I deserve a treat.

I think there's still a part of my TTRPG GM brain that cruises in 'This is the world I built and you can experience it' mode, instead of a 'Lets build this world together' one. It's like a default, like I'm still in the 1980s when the GM was the be-all and end-all, and the responsibility...

It's already been a rough week bouncing around hospitals to finally get a much needed all clear, and to cap it all off I need to take the cat to the vets for an emergency checkup. This week can get in the fucking sea. I need happy memes. Meme the shit out of me.

Predator Badlands is streaming on Hulu & Disney+ from February 12th. Like a twat I never saw this at the cinema, but to be fair my TV is fucking huge.

One day I'll write about my 'Leoric & Gull' idea, set in the 12th Century in my home city of Lichfield. A world-weary soldier joins with the last of Elvenkind, travelling England investigating the supernatural as Christendom drives out the last of the Pagan ways. It's Supernatural meets Cadfael.

I need to see the Markiplier movie 'Iron Lung'. It sounds like a great story concept and I'm always fascinated to see how low-budget indie filmmakers handle it.

This looks awesome, and it's one of my favourite periods of history.

I'm really enjoying 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' but I'm really struggling with these half-hour episodes. I think I'd have preferred longer episodes with a shorter season.

In 2008 I wrote a TTRPG called 'The 13th Year'. Set in 1952, it was about WW2 leading to global atomic war because the Manhattan Project actually created an alternate reality, and every bomb dropped since created more. It was an alternative history post-apocalyptic RPG, and I want to redo it.

Asteroids. I was obsessed with it so much I wrote an entire setting and backstory for it. I was also obsessed with the cartridge cover art when it became available for home consoles. This was my favourite t-shirt for a couple of years.

This is where it should have ended. The fact that anything went beyond this will always baffle the fuck out of me.

I'm enjoying A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. I really like the characters and the slow burn leading up to what I hope to be an impressive tourney. I'm not a huge fan of the shorter episodes - the last one was just 30 minutes - but I don't want to wait for them all to drop. Just a small gripe, mind.
